PE (Seidt) -Soccer/Fitness

Art (Smith) - We will be learning about upcycled art, and creating a piece of art out of old books. If you have any old books that you're not using/wanting anymore please send them with your kids!

English/Writing (Gillett) - Will not have this class until Wednesday. Will begin Unit 4 vocabulary and working on "Fractured Fairytales."

Spelling (Gillett) - Due to testing, we do not have a new unit this week.  I will hand out the new unit, Unit 7 on Friday.

Algebra (Duree) - Due to testing, we will only have 2 classes this week. We will use this time to review area, perimeter, surface area, and volume. Our next test will be on Thursday, October 9th (next week)

Reading - Finishing The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.  Beginning rough draft of VFW Essay Contest.  The topic this year is "Why I appreciate America's Veterans."

September 22

Social Studies (Nittler) - There will be a test Wed. on Chapter 2.  Chapter 3 will deal with the European discovery of the Americas.

Social Studies (Nittler) - We will be continuing to work on Chapter 2 on the Native Americans.  Quiz Chapter 2, 1-2 on Thursday.

Art (Smith) - Learning about Op Art and famous Op Artist Bridget Riley. Than working on an op art project using different blending techniques previously covered.

English/Writing (Gillett) -  Working on vocabulary Unit 3. Grammar addressing subject/predicate and compound subject and predicate

Band (Copenhaver) - 

Spelling (Gillett) -  Unit dealing with Fine Arts words.

Algebra (Duree) - We are solving percent problems and how they relate to real-life. Quiz and timed test on Friday.

Pre-Algebra (Kilgore) -

Religion (Nittler) - We will finish Chapter 3 and begin Chapter 4, which deals with the fact that the Church is one, the people of God.

September 8

Social Studies (Nittler) - Test Tuesday on Chapter 1. Then the class will begin the next chapter on the Native Americans and the first discovery of America.

PE (Seidt) -Football test and assignment due Wed./fitness testing continues.

Septermber 2

Social Studies (Nittler) - The class will be discussing the climates, resources and landforms of the U.S.  Quiz on Chapter 1, Section 3 on Thursday.

PE (Seidt) -Football/Fitness Unit. Students will receive a handout over football along with a project on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

Art (Smith) - Completing blending worksheets. Starting a project over blending using warm and cool colors.

English/Writing (Gillett) -Begin Unit 2 vocabulary study.  Continue sentence structure study in grammar. If you have not signed up for REMIND, please do, so I can make sure you get all Communication Arts communication.  Thanks!


Spelling (Gillett) - Unit 2 5X due Wednesday.  Sentences on test on Friday.  Unit 2 due Friday.  Unit 3 passed out on Thursday.

Algebra (Duree) -

Pre-Algebra (Kilgore) -Decimals this week - Quiz Friday.

Religion (Nittler) - We will continue to discuss the mark of the Church that we call holiness in Chapter 2.  One component of that is how the Church provides the Sacraments for us to become more holy.

Reading - Review and take genre and literary elements test.  TEST will be Wednesday.  Begin Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde novel study.
